University Hall at William Paterson University Opens
On Wednesday, January 14, NK Architects' project team attended the opening celebration of University Hall, a new academic building for the College of Science and Health at William Paterson University. Also in attendance were Kathleen Waldron, University President; Ken Wolf, Dean of the University’s College of Science and Health; The Honorable Kim Guadagno, Lt. Governor of the State of New Jersey; New Jersey State Senator Tom Kean, Jr.; and other University and State representatives.
The 80,000-square-foot teaching and research facility houses 16 general-use classrooms and specialized classrooms and clinical spaces for the University’s programs in nursing, communication disorders, and public health. Clinical spaces include two updated patient simulation laboratories and a control room providing enhanced clinical training, as well as three nursing basic skills labs and four additional nursing simulation labs.
A large number of unscheduled collaborative spaces and a commons area (including a café) gives the building a rich cross‐section of users and spaces to promote a modern educational environment.
